In collaboration with the Poudre Food Partnership’s working groups, the Foodshed Project was made aware of the current expansion opportunities within the Food Bank for Larimer County’s Local Farm Purchasing program. Together with the Food Bank for Larimer County, the Foodshed Project and the Larimer County Farmers Market, we increased our reach and overall efficiency with local produce farmers for the Local Farm Purchasing Program by creating an additional opportunity for transaction.

So far this season, we have connected new local producers to the program, diverted over 15,000 pounds of potential food spoilage, increased accessibility to fresh, local produce for low income families, and paid local farms over $30,000 in sales.
