The Northern Colorado Foodshed Project, in partnership with Rocky Mountain Farmers Union (RMFU) and CSU Extension, is launching a new Peer-to-Peer Mentorship Program to help local farmers and ranchers learn from one another and strengthen our regional food system. Join us on January 29th from 4-7pm at Odell Brewing to learn more about the program and share some food and drink!
We’ve heard from many of you that you want more chances to share knowledge and skills, and this program was created for exactly that. Our goal is that all mentees receive one-on-one, place-based, relevant knowledge sharing during their mentorship session in order to collectively strengthen our industry. Mentees will receive the opportunity to form relationships with other farmers in the area, be mentored in other topics of their choosing, and be compensated for their time.
Here’s how it works:
- Fill out either or both of the mentor/mentee forms to tell us about your farm, what you’d like to learn, and what skills you can share.
- Attend our “Meet your Match” event on January 29th from 4-7pm at Odell Brewing to learn about the program, enjoy some pizza, and potentially find your mentorship match! RSVP Today!!
- We’ll match mentees with experienced mentors based on areas of interest and availability.
- Mentors receive a stipend ($50 for up to 3 hrs) for their time supporting fellow farmers.
- You’ll schedule your mentorship sessions directly with your mentor between January 1 and December 31, 2026.
After your session(s), you’ll complete a short feedback survey to help us improve the program.
You can sign up to be both a mentor and a mentee; we know everyone has something to teach and something to learn.
This program is funded by the Extension Risk Management Education (ERME) grant, with a goal of building stronger connections and knowledge-sharing across Northern Colorado’s farming community.
Let’s grow together and strengthen our regional farm network.
