The Foodshed Project

Growing Northern Colorado’s local food economy, from farm to plate & everywhere in between.

The plan

We are developing and implementing an adaptable plan to grow our local food economy for the benefit of all.

Current Projects

Though we’ve just begun, exciting things are already happening!

What is a foodshed?

Your foodshed is all the places that your food comes from and through. We aim to spur more discussion about this all-important geography.

 Who we are

We are led and advised by community members, business leaders, farmers, food systems experts, and more.

Market Ambassador Campaign

Donate today to support a Market Ambassador at the Larimer County Farmers Market! This diversity and inclusion program will ensure all members of our community feel welcome at our downtown Fort Collins markets as well as support locally produced food. We are so close to reaching our goal of $3,000! Will you contribute today and help support our local food economy? To donate, please visit our How to Help page and select “Market Ambassador Program” as your donation allocation. For more information on the program visit our blog.

$2,525 of $3,000 raised!

“If we are to become native to our places, the foodshed is one way of envisioning that beloved country”
